Rob Atkin

Rob leads the IT Infrastructure function as Head of IT Infrastructure.

He manages a team of Academy‑based IT Technicians who provide day‑to‑day technical support across all LST sites, ensuring that staff and students have access to reliable, high‑quality digital systems.

The IT Infrastructure function is responsible for maintaining a robust, safe and secure network for all stakeholders. This includes overseeing core infrastructure, safeguarding data integrity, ensuring cyber‑security compliance and keeping the Trust up to date with essential IT programmes, software and system developments. As a team, they bring expertise in networking, security, systems administration and technical problem‑solving.

Rob has worked in education throughout his career, progressing from an IT apprentice to senior leadership roles in network management and infrastructure. He holds a range of industry certifications, including Microsoft and Cisco Networking and specialises in designing and maintaining secure, resilient IT environments that enable effective teaching and learning.
