Vision and Mission

Every Teacher Equipped to Empower. Every Pupil Empowered to Create.

To help schools move from device adoption to teaching transformation, widening access to learning and reducing workload.

Purpose

The Laidlaw Schools Trust Apple Regional Training Centre (RTC) brings together education leaders and regional tech partners to provide practical, actionable insights that decision makers can take back to their schools. We will achieve this through four strategic pillars, ensuring every stakeholder gains tangible value:

Accessibility

Ensuring inclusive learning and digital equity for all pupils

Showcasing how LST applies the Department for Education whitepaper “Every Child Achieving and Thriving” in mainstream provision. Demonstrates how inclusive technology widens access, tackles digital inequality and informs a future thought leadership piece.

Innovation

Transforming teaching and learning through PedTech to engage and inspire

Inspiring education and PedTech leaders to explore innovative approaches that transform teaching, increase engagement and embed emerging technologies to future-proof learning.

Workload

Reducing teacher workload while maintaining high-quality teaching

Demonstrating how technology reduces teacher workload, alongside sharing the LST strategic roadmap, giving leaders tools to scale sustainable change in their schools.

Digital Destination

Connecting education to regional tech skills pathways and future careers

Linking schools to the skills and inclusion strand of the Creating Real Opportunity: North East Growth Plan (North East Combined Authority), highlighting pathways into regional tech careers and showcasing Digital Destinations, fostering collaboration between education and industry.
