Tallyia Charalambous

Tallyia leads English across the Trust in her role as Director of English.

As part of a team of lead professionals, she takes responsibility for the quality of subject provision, including curriculum design, teaching and assessment across all Academies.

The English function provides both strategic and operational leadership, with Directors of Subject jointly accountable for subject performance improvement, attainment and progress. Tallyia works to raise standards in English by ensuring a coherent, high-quality curriculum and consistent approaches to teaching and assessment, supported by a shared examination board across all core subjects.

Working across the Trust Academies, Tallyia supports a target group of assigned schools, where she works closely with Senior Leadership Teams and Subject Leaders to accelerate improvement. She plans and teaches high-quality lessons, delivers targeted intervention programmes and provides both challenge and support to subject teams to help them achieve ambitious outcomes for students.

Through detailed analysis of performance data and close collaboration with colleagues across the Trust, Tallyia ensures students are appropriately targeted for support and that English provision is consistently strong. Her work supports high standards of literacy, learning and achievement, contributing to improved outcomes and a shared culture of excellence across the Trust.
