Keeley Wood

Keeley leads the Inclusion & Primary Team as Strategic Director.

Team members include the Primary Headteachers, the Primary School‑to‑School Support Team and the Behaviour, Attendance, Safeguarding and Inclusion Team. Together, they ensure that high‑quality primary education, inclusive practice and strong pastoral systems are embedded across all Laidlaw Schools Trust Academies.

The Inclusion & Primary Team is responsible for driving school improvement, strengthening teaching and learning and ensuring that every child benefits from a safe, nurturing and ambitious school environment. As a team, they bring expertise in primary leadership, curriculum development, safeguarding, attendance, behaviour, SEND and inclusive practice.

Keeley brings extensive experience from across the primary sector, beginning her teaching career in 1988 in Sunderland before progressing to Head of English, Head of Curriculum and Deputy Head. In 2009, she became Head of Primary within a newly formed all‑through academy and later served as Executive Principal across multiple LST schools, including Thomas Walling, Westgate Hill, South Hylton and Atkinson Road. Keeley now works closely with all LST primary leaders, championing inclusion, high expectations and exceptional opportunities for every child.
