Rise and Shine for our LST Breakfast - Celebrating Transformational Change

This morning marked a pivotal moment as we gathered for our LST School Improvement Breakfast, reflecting on The LST Roadmap to Extraordinary- one year on.

It was truly inspiring to have our visionary Laidlaw Head Teachers, alongside esteemed leaders like Gabrielle Reddington, Keeley Wood, Chris Lane, Paul Tillock and Peter Robson, all under one roof. Special mention to our new team members Paula Hegarty, Audrey Bolam, Amanda Parkes from Discover Learning Trust (set to join LST on July 1st) and David Amos, our new Principal at Academy 360.

Kicking off the morning was our CEO and Director of Education, Sally Newton, who eloquently highlighted the remarkable strides we've made over the past year. With the LST Balanced Scorecard as our guide, we showcased our collective impact on transformative change, touching lives through character development, enrichment, well-being, and empowering pathways.

“What binds us together is our culture. Our values permeate the entire Trust and the work we do. Ambitious, Brave, Curious, Determined, Extraordinary, Fast, and Good—our LST Values—describe every one of you in the room today, and that’s why you’re here at Laidlaw. This will transform the lives of the children and communities within our care and allow you a transformational career.”

As creators, not conformers, we've set strategic priorities that propel us forward with unwavering dedication. Thanks to the generous support of the Laidlaw Foundation, we're realising bold initiatives like the universal introduction of 30 hours for Nursery children, ensuring every child receives the opportunities they deserve. None of this would be possible without Rob Hughes and the LST Central team who allow us to focus on what we do best -extraordinary education.

Gabrielle Reddington's poignant session on inspection and attendance underscored our collective ethos. We champion inclusivity, recognising that every child learns uniquely. It's this ethos that drives us to be curious and determined because we know education has the power to transform lives.

In the spirit of continuous improvement, we continue to challenge and support one another. We know where we need to do more, being brave and fast because our children only get one chance.
