Meet our LST leaders in this interview with Rob Hughes, CEO and Accounting Officer and Sally Newton, CEO and Director of Education.

Rob and Sally took over the leadership of Laidlaw Schools Trust seven months ago, and they are determined to drive positive change and transform the lives of our pupils and communities through extraordinary education. 

In this full interview, they introduce themselves, discuss the brave move to share the role of CEO and their strategy to transform the lives of communities and pupils across LST.

Combined they have extensive knowledge of school improvement and strategic business growth in a way that allows LST to make a huge difference to the pupils and communities currently in our care, and more in the future. 

Laidlaw Schools Trust are incredibly lucky to have additional funding through the Laidlaw Foundation for initiatives that allow us to go above and beyond what other schools can offer, one example being Laidlaw X. This is an innovative strategy that aims to extend the reach of education by enhancing whole-child development and actively measuring cultural capital as well as academic success; after joining an LST academy, character skills from Skills Builder Partnership are developed in school, welfare support is available for those who need it along the way, and success is demonstrated through extraordinary experiences, so that when a child leaves their LST education, they are a well-rounded global citizen, ready to make an impactful difference in this world.
